Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION: Provides staff leadership for day-to-day unit operations such as staffing, scheduling, and cost containment activities. Acts as a liaison in interdepartmental and intradepartmental activities. Demonstrates expertise and leadership in the role components of Manager, Teacher, and Practitioner with emphasis on mystery of management skills. Provides nursing leadership for the Clinic. Monitors, directs, and expedites clinical processes to assure a high level of clinic productivity. Provides high quality clinical services to the patient and to the divisions. Supervises, leads, and instructs clinical support staff. Directs, leads, and acts as a resource person for staff when they are in the clinic. Works closely with HR Director to establish and enforce safety policies and procedures, OSHA regulations and employee health surveillance program. Departmental level responsibility for oversight of professional licensing and certifications, continuing education, and clinical skills enhancements of all staff (RN level and below). Directs Emergency Procedures including code teal. Oversees satellite medical assistant/phlebotomist staffing and assists with providing medical assistance support to divisions when requested. Provides CPR Instruction for ECC employees. Administers and tracks TB skin testing. Communicates patients' and staff needs and responses through appropriate verbal and written methodology. Communicates issues and daily operations concerns appropriately. Effectively manages employee performance and addresses problems by providing employees with feedback on a regular basis, identifies ways to further develop skills, completes written evaluations and conducts performance appraisals. Is accountable for employee relations' issues, and works with Human Resources department to resolve current issues and to develop methods for preventing potential future employee relations' issues. Establishes, reviews, and updates job descriptions for departmental personnel by reviewing the responsibilities and minimum qualifications with incumbents to ensure accurate job documentation is kept on file. Demonstrates advanced leadership management skills. Serves as arbitrator in resolution of conflicts between staff. Takes appropriate action to correct unacceptable communication behavior as needed. Actively participates in preparation of regulatory agency reviews. Assists in administrative activities such as budget planning, identifying means of cost containment, coordinating staffing schedules, and ensures communication regarding areas of concern to Clinic Manager. Identifies problems and recommends changes to eliminate or resolve them. Supports quality improvement activities by facilitating the change process with emphasis on operations and safety. Interacts with and establishes collegial relationships with other members of the health care team. Utilizes available resources to clarify standards of care and policies. Provides direction and guidance for less experiences staff concerning policies, scheduling, assignments, time management, organizational skills, and daily operations. Administers clinic policies and procedures in accordance with the state, federal, and organizational guidelines at each institution by reviewing, revising and communicating them to ensure compliance. Develops and prepares operational and statistical reports for management and regulatory agencies to assist in making fact-based decisions and to comply with regulations. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing, BSN, current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia and one year progressive clinical experience.
Preferred Qualifications Bilingual in Spanish.
