GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the Standard Care Arrangement with a collaborating physician/physicians, the Advanced Practice Nurse provides general primary care services to patients of all ages; provides clinical leadership through specialized direct care, consultation, education; carries out research in order to develop and enhance the quality of nursing practice, and coordinates the clinical services of assigned patients in assigned clinical areas. Complies with the State Nurse Practice Act and Scope of Practice as delineated by the Medical Staff by-laws of Fairview Hospital . The organization reviews the qualifications, performance, and competence of each individual brought into the organization by a licensed independent practitioner to provide care, treatment, or services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Seeking a Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist with three (3) to five (5) years experience relating to the assigned service. Previous experience with open heart patient population. Computer and data evaluation and analysis experience required. Familiarity with leading work groups and performance improvement teams.
Licensure as a RN in the State of Ohio . MSN or MS degree required, or BS grand-fathered by the Ohio Board of Nursing . Current Certificate of Authority (COA) to practice as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. Current certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, or grand-fathered, as prescribed by the Ohio Board of Nursing. Current CTP or CTP-E as necessary to prescribe medications as applicable. Standard Care Arrangement with a collaborating physician upon hire.
BCLS, ACLS required, ACLS instructor experience highly preferred.
