In this position, you’ll provide primary healthcare services to hospital and clinic patients within scope of license. You’ll perform physical examinations, perform or order diagnostic tests, establish diagnosis, prescribe medications, and instruct patients and family members about medical conditions and treatment. May have an area of specialty practice. Requirements: current State RN licensure; and licensure as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP).
JOB DESCRIPTION:This hospital-based Nurse Practitioner will: - Provide surgical services support to attending surgeons in the care management of colorectal and general surgical patients. - Work in collaboration with attending surgeon to assess the physical, psychological and social needs of the surgical patients. - Order, interpret, and record results of clinical tests and report results to physicians. - Prescribe medications and make recommendations for other therapeutic forms of treatment in conjunction with the treating physician. QUALIFICATIONS: Education:MSN, Nurse Practitioner Licensure:Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Virginia Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) Experience: Previous experience in oncology nursing required with a specialty or interest in lung cancer. Three to five years as a RN providing or supervising patient care.
