OverView:
Banner Health is the leading healthcare company in Arizona and the 2nd largest private employer in the state. We are seeking an experience Clinical Doc Specialist for our System CDS Pool. The pool CDS will cover when current AZ CDS staff are on vacation, leave, vanacies, etc. and would also help provide education to new AZ CDS staff. The CDS role has to know inpatient coding. RHIT or RHIA requested. Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for improving the overall quality and completeness of clinical documentation. Facilitates modifications to clinical documentation through extensive interaction with physicians, nursing staff, other patient caregivers, and medical records coding staff to ensure that appropriate reimbursement is received for the level of service rendered to all patients with a DRG based payor (Medicare, Medicaid, Other payers). Ensures the accuracy and completeness of clinical information used for measuring and reporting physician and medical center outcomes. Educates all members of the patient care team on an ongoing basis.

Qualifications:
This position requires current Registered Nurse (R.N.) licensure in state worked with a minimum of 4 years clinical nursing experience OR A seasoned Coder with a minimum of 4 years experience. Preference for Coder candidates will be given to those who are a Registered Health Information Technician or Certified Coding Specialist in active status with AHIMA.All candidates must demonstrate critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and time management skills. Must demonstrate ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team format. All candidates must past a written clinical competency examination with minimum score of 70.
